DSD Business Systems, a leading value-added reseller of business management software, today announced a joint development project with ScanForce. Together, the companies will develop a Multi-Bin inventory solution for Sage 100. DSD Business Systems provides accounting and business management software for small and medium-sized businesses, along with developing customized programs for Sage 100. ScanForce is a leading provider of warehouse and sales automation solutions for Sage 100. The new Multi-Bin product will be designed to work exclusively with the ScanForce Warehouse Management Solution. ""We are thrilled to partner with ScanForce to develop this new product,"" said Jon Reiter, Chief Software Engineer at DSD Business Systems. ""The ScanForce Warehouse Management Solution is a great product for warehouse automation, and adding a Multi-Bin capability will make it a perfect fit for any distribution company. We are very excited to showcase a new solution that will provide even more functionality to Sage 100."" The new Multi-Bin product is currently under development and is planned for an early 2016 release. It will be available to purchase as a stand-alone product from DSD Business Systems, as well as through ScanForce as a bundled Multi-Bin & Warehouse Management Solution. The Multi-Bin product will be available for Sage 100 versions 4.50, 2013, 2014, 2015, and 2016. ""DSD Business Systems has always had a name that the Sage world recognizes and respects, said Steve Showalter, partner at ScanForce. ""When the opportunity presented itself to enhance our product offering by partnering with DSD Business Systems to write a solution that brings the most comprehensive Warehouse Management for Sage 100, we knew we had to react. This is an exciting time for ScanForce, DSD Business Systems, and the entire Sage 100 market and we are proud to be an integral part of it.

I have no problem with ScanForce or DSD, so congratulations on what needed to be done. The multi-bin function is a general fiasco, and I pin it all on Sage for not having any control over the authorized development community, except to collect their annual fees. Now that they are in bed with Salesforce, perhaps they can institute a similar ""certification"" process for all apps and enhancements. I can see having multiple scanning solutions, because there are many ways to implement that. But multi-bin for Sage 100 shoud be a standard feature, so why have more than one? ONE has proven to simply be a sales and marketing play where each can sell each other's products and they have a combined price list. There are no packaged deals to be found, and basically you have to deal with each partner separately on their functions. I'm not convinced this has done anything for anyone except ACSG, Scanco and JDB. And, quite possibly, this may blow up on them. JobOps is in process of integrating with the ACSG multi-bin, and I understand it may be available by January. They also already integrate with JDB with JOScan. It is still on the table that JobOps might be used by Sage as a manufacturing solution. (""A solution"", because Work Order/MRP could still exist - like 100 and 100c coexisting, because if there's money to be made, Sage is there.) To complicate this, Sage is still hunting for its own multi-bin lite. They already talked to ACSG and apparently rejected that due to price. So who are they going to pick? I heard a rumor yesterday that it could be DSD, but historically they have made deals with IIG.
