Sage 100

Is there a way to send pay stubs on the pay date as opposed to the day the payroll is processed (the date the payroll journal updated)?  For example, the owner wants to update the payroll register on Monday but have the pay stubs emailed on Friday (the pay date).

We've considered manually sending each PDF from the paperless viewer however that is a lot of work.  The customer is looking for a way to send the PDFs automatically if the payroll person is planning to be out of the office on payday.  A good solution would be automating the sending from the paperless viewer, or automating selecting by date and sending from the PDF/Payroll folder.

Automation after the fact would be ideal. In the short term can you select more than one at a time to send from within paperless?  That would simplify things.

That's a good idea @alan niergarth  I didn't know that multiple PDFs could be selected and sent at the same time.  Since the PDFs are password protected, they could have someone other than the payroll person select and send them.

I think I have one customer who does this. They go into the paperless folder and have some automation that attaches the check to an email. Unfortunately, I wasn't involved in the selection or setup. Just sharing the approach which I think worked for them. My first step would be a conversation that went something like this "You may be able to do this by having some type of third-party program pick the check up from the paperless folder. However, my guess is that this is a $x,xxx.xx to $x,xxx.xx type solution. Is there enough value in this for you to consider researching further? "​

Some customers are in love with these meetings and expect us to attend them all no matter whether they have an agenda.  If my prior min fee was $x, I now quote min $ x + 2 x $ zoom. Also if you don't have one grab one of those auto calendar solutions that will display open times to your customers as that gets you out of quoting three or four dates you are free to meet then the customer waits three weeks to confirm ...  ​​​

For 3rd party reporting solutions, make sure you can see the values you need using ODBC.  We've set up Paperless PDF emails for invoices (using Visual Cut... to consolidate a day's invoices into one email per customer), with a SQL View to extract email settings.  For PR I'd question whether the linking fields or employee email addresses would be encrypted as PII.
