  • 1.  How to modify standard report through Sage 100 2018 Premium

    Posted 12-20-2020 17:32

A customer has asked to have a field added to a standard register in Sage 100 Premium v2018. I am able to open the report but when I refresh it to get a list of connections so that I can add another table I am challenged:

I've tried entering the SQL server name, followed by MAS_Reports and also my login. Neither works. It doesn't work if I omit the server name either. Each time I receive the following error.

Any ideas on what I need to add in order to edit this register?

It appears that you added a table from SOTAMAS90 instead of from the SQL server OLE DB (AD) connection. Mine is named "THINKSTATION\MSSQLSERVER01" in the attached example.

This is a standard register that the customer asked if I could add the vendor terms code to. So I need to add in the AP_Vendor but I can't do so without refreshing/logging into the register form itself.

    The customer request:

Add the terms code to the following standard reports:
    1. AP Check Register
    2. Invoice Payment Selection Register
    3. Aged Payable Invoice Report

personally, this would be a great training topic.  I struggle with this  @Wayne Schulz myself.  I usually get it to work; but can't really say I know how it works.

I would click the Back button then choose OLE DB and then the MS SQL Server driver.  Choose the SQL server, and use the sa logon and password.

Doug and Dan are correct. All the factory RPTs on Premium are shipped from Sage using the SOTAMAS90 DSN. When you Print or Preview it auto-maps SOTAMAS90 to SQL OLE DB. But if you have to modify an RPT that involves adding a new field from another table, then you would open the RPT in Crystal yourself and manually choose SQL OLE DB and choose the Mas_Reports SQL login. This will force a re-mapping of all the fields in all the tables. It's pretty smooth except any date fields. These will pop up in Crystal as un-mapped and you would re-map those manually to the same field name, because in SQL they are stored as datetime fields.

Having said that, I have no idea if this will actually work but it's probably worth a shot as a test to open one of your reports and only change the Keywords. That is go to File / Summary Info / Keywords and change the "6.00" to "5.40". Now print the report and it will say it needs to get converted (or run Mascrcw.exe manually) and it may convert it to SQL OLE DB for you.
