How to install and configure Sage 100 ERP for Windows 8 (Must login to ATLAS BEFORE clicking link) #atlasnew

Does this also apply to version 4.5?

Not sure - was only able to login so far on my MAC this morning. My guess is that it may. Also don't know if supported platforms was/is updated for this or if it's unofficial guidance.

I love that Sage CRM is not supported in Windows 8 so you can run MAS 2013 but not CRM..... @WayneSchulz windows 7 professional is still supported...

FWIW, I logged out of Atlas and then back in. Still get a 404 error from link. Went to article number on Atlas to get it. Check the install area and there is nothing above 4.5 yet.

@JohnBroadfoot if you click on @WayneSchulz link from 8:43 you will see the 2013 info. The first link doesn't work for me either.

The first link Wayne posted works for me when I am already logged in to Atlas. The document really doesn't have much to say. I have one end user who has been using Windows 8 on a 100 Advanced 4.40.0.10 install for a couple of months now with no apparent problems. The SPM hasn't been updated since 2011 so it's a crapshoot to see if something will work.

The second link is for 2013 dated 12/14/2012

Yep. The 2013 SPM is the only one that has been updated.

Per Lori Maloof version 4.5 is not now and is not planned to be supported on Windows 8

Love it. Just took my first client call. ""hey, we got a new workstation and may need some assistance to install the MAS workstation. Shouldn't be a problem. What OS? WIN 8 64 OS"". Houston, we may have a problem. Well, did get it to install when under run as adminstrator mode. However, Paperless is being a bitch. Getting some typical errors, but no resolution yet...... Done some of the usual things like security access to the folder, PL_advancedoption_ui, click off the lockfile, uninstall/reinstall, set up a local port named Sage for the PDF printer. Have NOT verified the intf*.dll yet. Did notice that WS has three different PDF programs, made sure Reader opens the PDF by default,.

Where is the cdintf300.dll really supposed to reside on a 64 OS system. I am looking at my workstation (WIN 7 64) which paperless works on and this file is not in the system32 folder. It is in the syswow64 folder But Sage doesn't seem to reference the syswow64 folder in the KB Resolution ID 506665.

I am pretty sure I had to put it in the syswow64 as I fought through it.

Yes, it appears that it is supposed to be in the SYSWOW64 folder even though I don't see any specific reference to it in any KB. We managed to jam it into the system32 folder (took a little extra effort to register it). Seems to be working now..... So the solution was to install the 64 OS cdintf300.dll (somewhere ?) and register it.

Spoke too soon. Client reports that it is baaaacccckkkkkk!

I wonder if I should set up v2013 so I can run the workstation set up. It worked for me in the past when I was trying to get v4.3 to run a WIN 7 machine...

Any additional updates on this issue? Appears Paperless Office with 4.50 only works if logged into the Windows 8 machine as an administrator.

@BrettZimmerman - I had tried everything in that document except the registry hack. I had their IT person do that and workstation is now Working As Desired.....

Jeesh, third client to buy a WIN 8 machine. More to come. The first took a week to optimize for MAS, the second switched to WIN 7 Pro, now attempting install with third. MAS 4.5.6, logged on as local administrator. Sage PDF is visible in devices, made port change to local port c:\users\public\sage, made changes to security settings. Now getting a Printe no activated, error code - 20. Ran the Pl_advancedoptions_ui utility, uninstalled printer, reinstalled. Still getting error message. Other random thoughts?

The permissions in the registry is what got me over the hump. If the workstation or server has a 64-bit operating system installed, verify that LM-4046T (4.30) or LM-4045T (4.40) are installed. For details, see the Related Articles section below. Verify permissions for the following keys in the Registry (at the Workstation level): Click the Start button, click Run, and enter Regedit Navigate to the Hotkey Current Config / Software Key. Right-click Software key, and then click Permissions. Select Full Control for Everyone listed in this box, and then click Apply.

@GeneUlrich do you have to install LM-4046/4045 if you are on a higher release like 4.5 or 2013?

Those are only for 4.30 or 4.40, so I don't think so. In fact my situation was on a 4.40.0.10 install and I did not load LM-4045.
