  • 1.  How to delete BOM parent item

    I have a long list of BOM parent items to delete for client using v2021.  I am not finding a utility to upload the BOM parent items to delete.  If I use the IM delete/change utility, the items return a message that the BOM needs to be deleted first.  I not in the mood to delete 250 BOMS manually.

    Thoughts?

    Use the IM delete/change utility.  First create a new inventory item code, "ZZZDELETE" with an average cost valuation method.  use the IM CHANGE utility to merge the Bill Item Code into the ZZZDELETE item code.

    Thanks.  A little background.  I went this merge route last week.  The Everready bunny for THAT process was still going on after three days.  Looking for a shorter process.  If I delete the BOM, I can use the utility to delete the item then.  Interesting that there is not a BOM delete utility function.

    Non the less, I will try this workaround tonight on a limited basis.  Slow and steady wins the race!
