  • 1.  How Partners Should Think about Cloud in 2024

    Posted 12-01-2023 07:40

We have a session in the list for a Cloud session.  With 4 Cloud Service Providers (CSPs) now members of 90 Minds and the increasing adoption of Cloud and push by publishers I suggest we have a facilitated panel discussion for the upcoming meeting.   Cloud@Work is new this year and Summit, SWK and GoToMyERP typically send people to the event.

My suggested topic is - How Partners Should Think about Cloud in 2024.  In a one hour session I think we can have 4-5 topics and let the representatives can respond to.

    • Cybersecurity - Risks and mitigation strategies
    • What technology is available to make the customer experience better in the cloud in 2024?
    • What are best practices for partner and CSP interaction?
    • How do suggest we compete with a hosted solution like Sage 100 against NetSuite or Acumatica?
    • What are clients asking for in a CSP?

    Thoughts, suggestions, ideas, feedback?

@Gary Feldman  This is great.  I like your topic bullet points.  One topic we may consider adding is a high level discussion of the advantages and disadvantages of cloud / hosting vs on-premise.  It may be difficult to get cloud providers to be objective about advantages of on-premise solutions, however, there are some advantages to on-premise that most of the Sage 100 consultants are aware of and it would be great to see how the cloud providers address these.

I really like the list of topics you have. I think touching on Doug's topic would be incredibly relevant. I think another topic to that would dovetail quite nicely with Doug's is how they're addressing the inconsistent demand of work-from-home and how their solutions create flexibility for WFH-dominant, office-dominant, or hybrid working environment requirements that can fluctuate drastically from one organization to another. That topic would apply to multiple ERP solutions and hits a wide gamut of industries and organizations.

Added to my note, although I think this is almost a softball question to ask for a pitch of how their cloud supports work from home...  Important and added to my outline.
