  • 1.  How do you retain the password in an System DSN/OD

    How do you retain the password in an System DSN/ODBC connection to SQL? I'd like to import via ODBC form SQL connection in VI. I'm using SQL Server Authentication for ODBC, the login ID is retained but not the password and VI doesn't prompt for it.

    Once you setup the DSN and get a good connection test, it does retain the password. If you go back into the DSN configuration it will not show you the password, and it does look like its been blanked, but it is not, it is being saved.

    Okay, then I must have had another issue ( and I did find that user login in for ODBC in VI, duh me, click the green key). Once I entered the login under VI, green key, it worked. Thanks.

    ahh yes, the green key, assumed you had done that.
