How are you responding to clients who are complaining about the W2 form changes using Aatrix. Clients have spent $100s on preprinted W2 forms either 4/page or 2/page and cannot use them with Aatrix. Some have asked ""Can I use the old Payroll option W2 form printing, because it appears that there are no W2 form changes from 2013 to 2014?

Copy the Sage 100 ver 2014 payroll files into either a 4.5 or 2013 version and print 2/page from there. 2014 payroll files works without problems in the older versions. The only thing I had to do was manually reenter the Local Taxes

All, I was asked Jim Woodhead and talked to Sage regarding Year End. Hope this helps. Version 4.4, 4.5 and 2013 you can print W-2 from MAS90. Version 2014 is untested. If you use Aatrix you only get a 4 part W-2 form, and you can either print them locally or let Aatrix send the forms to your employees, (my option). If you do processing in Aatrix you need to install 2014 IRD. If you use Aatrix then the 2015 TTU should not be installed or the 2014 should be reinstalled before processing. The files Aatrix uses in Sage have multiple years which I have not verified, Sage informed me we don't need to make a year end payroll backup company, though I still did to be sure. Finally, I did install the 2015 TTU on a 4.4 system, not sure I will do the other clients I have on 4.4 this way, I may just change the Tax tables Manually. Hope this helps

I saw this train wreck coming round the mountain and e-mailed my clients about it in early December. Some still ordered the wrong form. While technically you should use perforated paper, you can probably get by without doing so (and claim ignorance after the fact)

We have several clients that got the wrong forms and are using the MAS 90 W2 program. One asked if the old Electronic reporting would work this year. Does anyone know if the file is the same format as last year? He is going to try it and see what AccuWage says.

I'm printing to eFiling unless the end user pays me to assist. Sage mailed several of my customers the wrong form and overnighted the proper version. I am not going backwards rather I am advising my payroll customers of the need to be current on the latest Sage version. I feel if I go back I'm only inviting the same problem next year.

Wayne, I agree, we have about 15 clients on 4.4 and while we will get through W-2 printing this year we are strongly advising these clients and Version 4.5 clients to get on a current release.

I totally agree with both of you. This client has never learned to let go of what you can't influence. He is ticked because he says one of their dealers on Business Works told him they eFile and don't pay anything. I told him he could proceed at his own risk. He ran the W2s and then ran his old electronic reporting and the file passed AccuWage for what that's worth. Must not have been any changes. Go live on 2014 is set for next week.

Also, tell me if I've got it wrong, if a client follows the eFiling and Reporting route, and obtains the proper W2 forms, the printing of the forms is free. However if the client needs to submit more than 250+ W2s then eFiling from Aatrix is a service with a fee. To eFile 430 W2 forms to the SSA and to the State Dept. of Treasury it will cost the client approximately $425 - Surprise !!!!!!

@MichaelMcDonald - Yes, the added cost does suck. They should verify with the state tax people about where the state gets their information. There are about 15 - 20 states that get theirs from the SSA. In Iowa, I never filed the state copy because of this. In VA, I have to file the state copy.
