Hotels at Sage Summit 2016? Has anyone determined what the main hotels are for Summit in Chicago this year? It looks like there are multiple ones like Denver and New Orleans ? I am assuming they will have shuttles? I haven't been to a convention at McCormick Place before? Can anyone enlighten us on what they normally do? Any inside scoop?

And speaking of hotels and reservations, is 90 Minds planning any training around Summit?

The hotel at the convention site is the Hyatt Regency McCormick Place, Also Sage has deals with the following: http://www.sage.com/sage-summit/about/travel

The McCormick Place area is HUGE. But it is a bit isolated. There are hotels nearby or you can stay in the Loop area and take a cab/bus to the event. Not really walkable (unless you are Wayne). Google link below gives you an idea of the location layout. Much more remote and spread out than Vegas was. https://www.google.com/maps/search/Hotels/@41.8500912,-87.6350887,14z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m8!2m7!3m6!1sHotels!2sMcCormick+Place,+2301+S+Lake+Shore+Dr,+Chicago,+IL+60616,+United+States!3s0x880e2b8114325857:0xde54f80e4327f5e2!4m2!1d-87.6159559!2d41.8499384

Also, transportation from O'Hare or Midway airport to your hotel will also be a challenge. You can take the ""L"" (subway) to downtown but I don't think there is a direct connection to McCormick. Probably a transfer to bus (not sure). @DougHiggs, @PeterWolf or @PaulZiliak can jump in here. Of course there is always a cab/limo/Uber to ride as well.

No easy way to get to McCormick via public transportation. There are shuttles available. Here's the link from their website: http://mccormickplace.hyatt.com/en/hotel/our-hotel/map-and-directions.html

@PeterWolf how about the Azamba Tesla? Are you giving shuttle rides?

You can get from O'Hare to McCormick Place via public transportation, but the hassle probably isn't worth it. If you want to save money on transportation, take the blue line train (the only train) from O'Hare. get off at Clark and Lake and take a cab. Depending on traffic it is about a 15 minute cab ride. If you are really cheap and want to take the public transportation route see teh Chicago Transit Authority web site and go to the trip planner. http://www.transitchicago.com/

I think Chicago is going to be a lot like Denver. For those who went to Denver: - Big expo (5 times what Sage needed) - Hotels in several areas around the city - Lots of walking to the expo

If you plan on staying and participating most of the time in the conference activities and don't have a lot of sightseeing or other plans around the city then you may want to stay at the Hyatt McCormick Place that is connected to the convention. if you want to spend time sightseeing, restaurants and bars then stay at either the Sheraton, Doubletree, or one of the 2 hotels on North Michigan (much better for night life than the Hilton on South Michigan, or the Palmer House Hilton (nice but old and the Loop is dead after 7pm).

Sage is likely to Livestream their keynotes (most of which were dreadful last year). Which means you could watch them from your hotel and probably plan on getting to the convention area for your lunch.

My understanding is that the adjacent Hyatt is sold out. There should be a list of official conference hotels coming from Sage, though I have not seen this. Those hotels will have dedicated shuttles running constantly back-and-forth from McCormick Place. Only Wayne will find the convention center walkable from any of the remote hotels, as the nearest others are 2 miles away. I agree with Doug - if you are planning to be a tourist as much as a conventioneer, searching for Chicago hotels in Streeterville or Gold Coast or Navy Pier might be for you.

Chicago is a seriously bike-able city. You can do a ride share bike from about any hotel, park it at McCormick Place, and pick another one to get you back - or to Navy Pier or whatever. In fact, one of the funnest things you might do in Chicago is rent a bike at McCormick Place and ride up to Navy Pier or Oak Street beach. You can dine indoors or outdoors. Chicago has 27 miles of uninterrupted lake front for biking, riding, jogging, swimming. There's nothing quite like it in the world. But I digress...https://www.divvybikes.com/assets/pdf/Hyatt-DivvyMap2013-final.pdf

@RhondaMcNamara - What was your rate? Is there a special code to use if booking direct?

Ah, @JeffSchwenk , @PaulZiliak , I was able to book at the OTHER Hyatt. The McCormick Place one, as @DianeRuth points out, is only an option if you book M-F, specifically. Meaning you can't arrive earlier than Monday. You can leave earlier than Friday. I'm too lazy/forgetful to not stay right next door to the convention center! Had to rebook.
