Im OK though I had 1/2 of water in the basement and have started to rip out the carpet. Carpet is only 4 years old, but hte damage could have been much worse. One county here has no more road closure bockages so they are advising no travel. . I was out of town with my boy scout troop. We were up near the Canadian border. Had to take detours to get back into Duluth (my wife was at home fighting the water) while I was gone. Duluth is a mess. The two seals at the zoo go out due to flooding along with the polar bear. I guess is was like Jurassic Park. Some animals perished in the floor. All have been returned to the zoo. Many closures. Very hard to get around due to so many streets closed. Many cars totaled as they were under water. Duluth is on a big hill. There have been some minor mud slides that have blocked roads. Contractors will be very busy.

Glad to hear you're okay! I cannot believe the videos I've seen. Jeremy (my son, who just moved home from Duluth) has been pointing out where some of them are and I am astonished! Hang in there @MyronStevenson !!!

I see Duluth has made Anderson Cooper on CNN. Our big thing is snow storms, not floods. Rain totals vary around town, but it was 6 - 9 inches in about 10 hours.

Good to hear you are drying out. Might be a good opportunity for the scouts to earn some dry wall and carpeting badges!!!!!!!!!

I have no idea how long it will take to get the roads fixed. Our construction season ends in October. After October 15th it is too cold to lay asphalt.

Don't the scouts still earn merit badges? Carpeting, Dry Wall Merit Badges. I am sure Myron can create a few new programs.
