Between the ""interims"" and Himansu being replaced by someone with ""global"" in the title it looks like the concept of ""Sage North America"" is about to bite the dust...

Sage press release quality control, JuanMi is Juan Miguel...With the obvious usage twice in the same press release it's clear a template was used and they were just waiting to fill in the blank...

Gosh, I sure will miss him. I remember three years ago when I was in the Irvine office and I was talking with Joe Langner about Sage CRM and showed him something that I (correctly) figured he didn't know it could do. Joe was impressed and said that we should show Himanshu. We walked over to Himanshu's office and Joe said ""I want Peter to show you this feature of Sage CRM"" and Himanshu, without blinking an eye, said ""I don't have it installed on my computer."" I said ""you guys are using the Cloud version so we can just pull it up"" (Sage was internally using Sage CRM Cloud at the time). Himanshu said ""My computer doesn't run the Sage CRM Cloud."" I asked him if he minded if I tried it myself. He gave the ok so I pulled up Chrome and typed in the URL and logged in. He said ""hunh, look at that."" At that point, I had lost steam on showing him the cool thing about Sage CRM since I just realized that he had no clue as to how the Internet or Sage CRM worked. tldr; Himanshu didn't seem to know that you can access Cloud applications over the Internet on your computer.

@MoiraGoggin - I don't understand your comment. I think Juan Miguel officially goes by ""JuanMi"".

Like Juan from Michigan? I'm confused @PeterWolf.

It's just his nickname / what he goes by ""JuanMeee"" is how it's pronounced.

This is what happens all the time - as soon as someone in Sage management knows me by name, they're gone. Anyone else you want me to take care of?

I still feel a bit responsible for Erika leaving just after the Summit where I had a couple of really good conversations with her...

So far as I'm aware Himanshu was responsible for steering the direction of the product lines. As such he played a very important role. That he is staying around a couple more weeks shows that he isn't leaving for a close competitor. If anyone remembers back to the ERP X3 relaunch, Sage actually had Himanshu there to answer questions. Since then I don't remember him doing much other than hopping onstage at Summit to give a pitch for the technology plan of the moment. Connected services being perhaps his last hurrah. I don't think anyone can beat Joe Langer's long goodbye.

...at the beginning of November."" Does that mean he is done after this week?

My sense of him was as a very smart technologist who knew how things could come together for customer functionality. I had a partner once like that; fairly unusual. I'd been expecting him to leave for a year or so. He has stretched the existing Sage technology as far as it can go; he's probably bored now. Working on Force1 is a very different technology set, and not as demanding as he can handle. I'm sure there are lots of large companies out there that need to drag their tech into the cloud age -- he would have fun there. Peter's story about him doesn't necessarily mean much, IMO. It is just that his attention was always on non-CRM elements --- which does sort of explain why Sage has been so slow to get decent CRM-ERP integration.
