  • 1.  Higher Logic Date Format Change

    Higher Logic changed the date format on posts.  Previously, they used elapsed time in hours or days.  An update to the system is now posting the exact date and time, resulting in a long date and time format, as shown in the screenshot below.  Higher Logic is aware of the issue, and results, and is working through an update.  We do not have a specific resolution date at this time.

    Fix is complete, looks like they revereted to the old format.

    That was an issue and a fix? What is their aversion to actual date and time stamping? I'm not sure who wants to see elapsed time.​

    To clarify here -- We are just starting the site's tuneups. We formalized consulting agreements with 2 HL-specialist firms (2 different goals) this past week. @Robert Wood is our lead on the design, reporting to Moira. We should be seeing significant progress by Christmas.

    This date-fix thing was an attempt by HL to meet our request. We'd already concluded we needed some specialists to help with this, and IMO this little bobble is more proof of that need. ​

    I need to update my post a bit:

    - the date bobble was not requested by us. It was HL system-wide (this is a SaaS system ...). Sometimes I miss important details.

    - Regarding our enhancement, I expect to see "some" results in the next couple months. "Significant" is probably overreaching, since we're just getting the effort moving. The needs of our community are, a bit surprisingly, different from most other HL customers. (We are tiny-tiny-tiny compared to the bulk of their customers. And our real-time usage is not in the mainstream.) The changes we want to make to enable better engagement will be a journey, guaranteed.
