Hi everyone, has anyone seen or know what to do when installing E-Filing and you get an eoor 1706, no valid source could be found. I have tried rinning this via a UNC path, verified permissions, though no success. I have done about 5 E-filing both XP and Windows 7 and have been succesful though the last three not so much. Thanks for any advice.

I'm sure you Google'd around and found this to be mostly an installer issue with not being able to find the source disk. If you're running it over any type network share maybe copy the source to the local drive?

Have you tried running from autorun and running as administrator?

To add to @RonGouveia's comment, you could also try logging into that computer as the Administrator and try the install (even though the user may ""already have"" administrative rights.

Yes I have tried both, running the program as Admin and logging in as Admin. I am thinking it is a problem with the Windows Installer or registry permissions issue which Microsoft has a write up about it. Sage doesn't have any answer other than permissions, running it via a UNC path etc. Thanks for the replies.

Here is an update on this issue, on one client, Windows 7 I had to copy the Sage 2013 install programs to the c:\ of the workstation I was on. Deleted any previuosly installed or partially installed E-file. Installed E-file then dowloaded and updated the MAS90.exe update from Sage, open E-File in Period End, ran the Update Process which then informed me that I need to install C++, vredist_86.exe. In the end sucessfull, just a few steps :)
