    Hi All...anyone have experience with the Act! Link? If so, how well does it work? A client is asking for some does and don'ts but I haven't much experience with it. Appreciate any help you are comfortable providing.

    Sucks!!! Run far and fast. Do NOT attempt to get involved. Don't get me started on another fiasco rant. I shudder from the memories.

    I was asked the details to my extreme response. Personally, I don't think it was extreme since it was the truth. As I recall, client was on v4.2. Wanted to try the link with Act. Spent about 3K on user licenses, about 5K on hardware including a separate web server, memory upgrades, etc. They had a lot of customers that needed to be linked. Link didn't work (very slow). Worked with Ronnie Aspie at Sage (I think there was one other tech that understood the link) to no avail. I ended up writing off about 40 hours of my time. Client eventually reassigned the web server to another task. Another black eye for helping push another POS (does NOT stand for point of sale) link by Sage. If it is any indication, support for the link was dropped in either v4.3 or v4.4. It is a dead product. Do NOT get involved....................

    +1 what Jeff aid. Some years ago (maybe 3) I was standing in line at the lunch buffet at Insights and someone who I didn't know went on and on about how terrible Act Link! was. Basically a mirror image of EXACTLY how Jeff has described it. Then I found another unrelated person who had a similar view.I've since kept far away from it and as Jeff say's it has since been mercifully put down. I think the whole Act! product might have been one of Sage's biggest ""misses"" and that it's only partly Sage's fault because I remember when they bought it the product was going through very very tough times (buggy upgrade).

    The Act link rivals the Sage Payroll Solutions as my biggest client nightmare. Both clients took a bath financially and I also lost money and more importantly, face. Both companies are still with me, but are leery of any Sage ""promises

    Well...I guess I will make sure they head in another direction. Is there a CRM solution that you'd suggest that connects to MAS?

    Get 'em on EES to get SageCRM - unless that's just overkill for them.

    +1 with Brett. Talk to Peter Wolf - he is in the group and a SageCRM genius.

    Sage EES is the preferred solution for Sage now. Integrates with MAS. Even if it is overkill, much better solution than Act.

    I'd guide them toward EES as well. Sage has slashed the combined pricing on this and at some point if the client were to go another route with a different product they could come back and question why Sage EES wasn't mentioned, etc. Now it's an entirely different conversation to ask how many people have actually implemented a combined EES and used SageCRM because I think that number is rather low.
