Sage 100

Hey Biznet gurus, have a question for you. Client is using Biznet to generate P & L's. Have been for over five years. They want to generate balance sheets as well now (not sure why this didn't happen from the get go, but client came to me as ROR). Anyway, they reach out to Biznet and a salesperson responds that they need to purchase there Sage 100 Providex System Connector. Is this correct?? Seems VERY odd to me that their current set up is unable to generate the balance sheet for them. Not knowing ANYTHING about Biznet, this suggested purchase seems to be more fore opening up Biznet to all the other modules. So gurus, is Biznet just trying to get an extra sale or do they REALLY need something else to generate the BS side of financials. TIA

Sounds like they are using the External Data function in Excel, which they can continue to use to create a Balance Sheet. The connector makes it a bit easier to get the data.

As Michelle said, I think you need to determine how they are pulling data in from Sage 100. However, if they have been using Bizinsights for 5 years, I don't understand why they would need another tool. They should own the Sage 100 GL Connector which they can use to build a balance sheet just like the built their Income Statement. The Sage 100 System Connector is needed to connect to module other than GL or to use in conjunction with BizNet's to reporting tool set. Michelle attended Excelapalooza this year and will have better insight than me on how things have changed.

That sounds very odd to me as well. If they're currently generating P&L's via BizInsight, they should be able to simply generate Balance Sheets also.
