Here is a weird #bug in 4.40 (tested in PU5&6) that Sage is calling ""WAD"". 1. Create an item with a long description. (e.g. 1234567890 etc.) 2. Create a sales order for that item and completely change the description. (e.g. ABCDEFGHIJ). Note that you only changed the description on the SALES ORDER, not on the item itself. 3. Go to item maintenance and click on the ""orders"" tab. 4. Type in or select the item you created in step 1. 5. Click the ""Sales Order"" radio button and watch the item's description magically change to the description from the sales order!!! If you click the extended description button, it displays that description. Apparently this only happens on the ""Orders"" tab and no other tab. So tell me, how is this possibly WAD????

Works as Designed definition does cover purposeful programming that doesn't bear any resemblance to the real world! Remember that in PO, if you change the cost of the PO item via ROG or ROI, this latest changed cost is recored in the PO as the cost that the buyer actually issued the PO for. So to remain consistent in coding, they are now carrying the new new SO description back to the IM master. Seems PERFECTLY plausible to me!!!!!!!!!!!!!

SU6 was supposed to fix that bug...apparently not so much!

Do you have a KB article for that one? I'm not seeing it.

No, I don't Dawn. Client was working directly with Sage about it and believed that their resolution was in SU6.

This doesn't have anything to do with the grid -- this appears in ITEM MAINTENANCE.
