Here come (yet again) product name changes from Sage.

Sage Intacct seems to be the only name untouched. Must be what the $850 million paid for.

lol.... but Sage 100 is still not a cloud product? Am I missing something here?

    Nope.

Maybe Integrity is being removed as a pillar?

If you tell them it's cloud enough times, they'll believe it, right?

You can fool some of the investors some of the time...

    Where is 500?

I'm at Sage Intacct this week for training, and all signage is ""Sage Intacct"", which must have been a huge task, so it remains as is.

They ignored my question about what they are calling Sage 500. Which seems appropriate.

This will help in dealing with our one 500 client when I tell them they should migrate to Sage Intacct.

Sage 500 will be called Sage Walking Dead 500

Picture is too funny. Thanks for the laugh at the end of the day. Too bad it is accurate.

I'm going to make a prediction that since Sage 500 was not included in today's presentation that there's probably going to be news on that product before calendar 2018 is over. If Sage had any intention of maintaining 500 they would have at least sprung for a logo. Heck, with the Sage 50cloud all they'd have to do is slap another 0 onto that and they'd have their logo.

I dunno. Maybe the current executives are so new, they don't know that Sage 500 exists.

Sage 500 is not sold on subscription basis, it appears they only did the naming change for subscription products.

So for all those who felt betrayed and befuddled by a misleading 'c,' enjoy your 'loud!'

_This and another thread address branding changes, so I'm posting it to both:_ Ran into Rob Larsh, he said the C to Cloud, and other name changes did NOT originate in North America they were handed-down from HQ without consulting the NA leadership. Further, if anyone has any comments_ on this change, and or the effects, (update websites, brochures, etc.) email these comments to your Sage rep. All emails on this topic are being forwarded to Nancy Harris

It's difficult to believe Nancy will stand up to the execs in London.

A lawsuit for false advertising might do it.

For sale, 1 Chevy Camaro Turbo. There's no turbo engine in it. We are just using the term turbo so people know it's capable of being fast if they rip out the engine and put in a turbocharger at extra cost.

    Is that the Cloud Camero?

  • 29.  RE: Here come (yet again) product name changes from Sa

There is now a 2017 2.0l Turbo. Before that, the last turbo camaro was 1997. Embarassing with 93 horsepower.... The new one does 0-60 in 5.4 which is excellent for a small 2 liter turbo in a heavy car.

    @WayneSchulz - don't you mean ""for lease""? :-)

They might as well try calling it Sage 100 Bitcoin/Blockchain if they are trying to get attention. Sales must be really bad. I encourage everyone to email their rep and complain. Hey I remember at Summit when they announced Sage 100c - my rep came up to me and said aren't you excited Johnny - Sage 100 is in the cloud now. We argued about it for 10 min and I then walked her over to a Sage 100 engineer and he laughed.

As of now I'm referring to it as Sage 100 on subscription. Most customers don't care about Sage's attempt at marketing spin.

  • 33.  RE: Here come (yet again) product name changes from Sa

    Posted 01-29-2018 18:45
@WayneSchulz I disagree, I think this marketing change and new launcher screen are going to create way more questions than the 100c ever did. ( we might be 9 months away before it really hits the users) But I think we are going to get more questions about how can I access Sage 100 on an iPhone/ipad etc. I can hear it already - what is the name of the APP to download. The customer is going to say ""I see we are on Sage 100 cloud - right?"" The users are getting more sophisticated and are going to be thinking oh - I can do x now and we are going to have to be explaining that this is just smoke - no fire.

I always ask if we can rename it MAS 90, but get no response. I think there is more brand recognition among current and previous users .

    Posted 01-29-2018 19:14
@JohnnyPabian you could be right. Sage claims they aren't going to change the product name inside the app and presumably on the splash screens. Maybe they're only going to change it for investor Powerpoint slides.

So awkward. I tell my clients that while Sage 100 will never be cloud, Sage keeps adding cloud-based functionality (like mobile sales, AP automation, hopefully PLAID, terms on time...) so that you can do more of your work from anywhere. I also acknowledge that the name is misleading.
