I have a
Sage 100 Premium FAQ I use when a customer on Standard or Advanced wants to go to Premium.
I love FAQ documents specifically because it keeps me from answering the same questions over and over
Why did I create this?
Customers frequently ask what they need with regard to SQL and some more specific configuration questions that SPM provides
I had more than one customer pick up the phone and call Sage to ask these questions ...
Stop me if you've heard this story beforeThen the customer calls back in disbelief that there wasn't an easily digested single document that Sage could refer them to
I do send them the
Sage 100 Installation and System Administrators Guide and SPM
No, most don't read it because it's lengthy and frequently doesn't answer their specific questions
As consultants, we are in a much better position to answer specific questions and provide value by answering some unasked questions ( such as my customer who used custom financials and was surprised that Premium didn't support them )
Yes, some of this could be done in a meeting with the customer.
However, I have found that customers start and stop projects on their timeframe
Providing a document - especially if it's a link to something that can be kept current - is extremely useful
Here's where I could use help
If you have experience with Sage 100 Premium and could review the original version of this document for accuracy ( or additions ) that would be most appreciated.
When done you can keep a copy of the FAQ and use it with your customers.
The original copy of this was created in October 2018 using a lot of info gathered from the group.
Over the years I've made additions and it's probably time for a wholesale updating of the document.
Here is what's currently included:
- What's NOT available in Sage 100 Premium
- Other limitations
- Sage OEM Runtime Version of Microsoft SQL
- ISVR Licenses/Licensing Mobility Eligibility
- How Many Microsoft SQL LIcenses are Required to run Sage 100 Premium
- Additional server recommendations
- Consultant provided additional recommendations
If you're interested drop me an
email and I can send you a link to edit or suggest additions
TIA
