Heads up on Sage 100 slow performance. One user was reporting extremely slow performance in Sage 100. I looked at the typical suspects: Exclude extensions, folders, from antivirus. Turn off real time AV scanning, insufficient memory, processor utilization, incorrect DNS configuration, etc. Finally, it was determined the laptop has two graphics adapters - the primary Intel chip plus an AMD adapter for bigger workloads. The user had (somehow) removed the driver for the AMD card - no idea why. After all of the video drivers and all the network drivers were updated, the problem went away. This is a new one for me and I will add the solution to my toolbox for future reference.

I had a customer chase down something very similar sounding. In their case I'm not sure that it ever resolved their issue. It's always that one workstation at a key employee where the customer remembers that it runs slowly or crashes and that invalidates the fact that 40 other workstations in the office are all running smoothly...

Yep. In this case it was the owner's workstation. 75 employees, 30 users, and one slow workstation.

Just curious, how long did you spend troubleshooting and how are you going to charge for the time spent?

@JeffSchwenk I spent an hour and will bill for an hour. Fortunately, the company has an in-house IT person who tested my recommendations and probably spent considerably more time than I did. We ran across the solution by trial and error after eliminating the usual causes.
