  • 1.  Head of Household - pre-2020

    Perhaps I missed something really obvious, but on my upgrades to version 2020, I am not seeing federal filing status of "H" or some other designation for Head of Household prior to 2020. What am I missing?

    The government got rid of that filing status years ago so it's no longer a valid option.

    That's what I thought but I see a box for it on the 2019 Form 1040 and on the pre-2020 Form W-4.

    Nix that. The pre-2020 Form W-4 did not have that option. I guess you could file as H of H but had to withhold as single.
