Haven't had to do this - so am curious because a customer is trying to consolidate servers. Can I have them running Sage 100 Advanced / MAS 200 3.71 and 4.40 as services on the same server? They have an older version 3.71 of Sage used for lookups and their newer version is at 4.4. Will I run into problems? If so I guess the workaround would be to run the 3.71 in standalone mode.

    Pretty sure it'll work fine.

Although I typically run Sage 100 Adv as an Application, I recall having to do this during a Test upgrade where the new version was installed on the same server as their current Sage 100 system - and this gave them the ability to access both systems during the Testing phase. Obviously need to use different Ports.

In this case the customer has one user accessing an old 3.71 setup to review payroll data so I'm thinking I'll just map that as a standalone MAS90 type acces which removes any extra complexity of having to worry about the two running together or start/stop that old service/app.

We have multiple versions or instances running as services on the same server. I understand from 2013 forward, you can not run more than one instance of a given version due to the new install method.

For the few people needing access, running 200 as 90 is the simplest and cleanest option.

If they do this they would need to assign different port ID's to each MAS 200 install.

I agree with @JeffSchwenk. I would put a ""MAS 90 Style"" icon on the desktops of those that need access and not run the 3.71 service or app. This is what I do when I (or clients) need access to archived installations.
