Have you started to get Commission Debit and Credit from Sage for customers who migrate from Sage 100 to Sage 100c? If so, have you been given any detail on how they compute their Debits? I am presuming that since they've already paid us a year for a maintenance renewal on 100 that they take that money back and then pay on the 100c. One thing I've found is that it's (somewhat) crazy to switch the customer in the midst of their plan because if the customer also downgrades licenses or 100c is somehow less annually then Sage gives a Debit on what they previously paid. In some cases,I've found that results in owing Sage money back. There's also no detail that I've seen on how Sage computes the Debit. One customer had been on their 100 plan for about 3 months before switching to 100c yet Sage gave me a Debit taking back all of the 100 commission. The 100c we got a commission on and their new renewal dates was the date they subscribed. So I'm thinking Sage might not be pro-rating their Debits but I'm not sure since I don't have any details. Anyone else look into this?

I am just grateful to get something.... I haven't switched anyone that is not renewing M&S as that would make Sage think too much. Why look for trouble.

From having done a couple of these my takeway is: - Only migrate people from 100 to 100c on their renewal date - Otherwise you have to figure out what Sage is doing when they issue a Debit against past maintenance - My estimate is that overall it takes $500 to $1000 of effort for me to initiate, explain, quote, collect and follow through on a 100 to 100c migration for which I make no money and in some cases if the customer downgrades I'm being asked to give money back. This is going to be a much bigger problem going forward as partners look at the first fiew promo migrations and kick themselves for doing some of them - and vow to stop doing more unless it is at the customer renewal date.
