Have you set up the Sage 100 integration to Microsoft Office 365 contacts for any customers and, if so, about how many and what has their feedback been?

We set this up for our own internal testing and it operated as described. We have not had a client buy into it as yet. Trying to set up a test server with this is a big pain because Microsoft only allows test O365 accounts for 90 days and then you have to do the whole process all over again. Including adding Sage back in as an additional administrator on the account. Once our test account expired, we did not set up a new one.

On a sad (and kind of funny) note, when Johnny Woodward came to our User Conference last year to demonstrate the integration of Sage 100 and Office 365 for one of our breakout sessions, Sage wouldn't purchase an Office 365 license for him. So he had to get a test license, which he was afraid would expire before the breakout session was over. And it sounded like it was not the easiest thing to set up and integrate. So - our answer would be ""Nope""! Even though it was demonstrated to at least 100 users, no one was interested in purchasing an Office 365 license to integrate contacts/emails with Sage 100.

When Linda first mentioned this in the Sage 100 PAC, to myself I thought ""why?"" I also may have asked Linda that on the call, saying that those that have a CRM system wouldn't care about this, and she said not all users have CRM. (And then in my mind again I thought ""why don't they have CRM?"")

Of course, we know that all Sage 100 users have 1 license of CRM.

I remember that you made that comment @John.Hoyt! And the 100 or so users that saw it, and have no interest in getting it set up, definitely back up your thought process of ""Why?""!

Actually we were surprised that more client interest wasn't shown. It is pretty cool to see previous communications and memos for the customer in the outlook panel. But we see this with most features of O365. Not much attention is being paid to the new functions. We are trying to spread the Gospel. @PeterWolf is too!

We haven't even set this up internally to be able to demonstrate it.
Alan, when you set it up for yourself, did it make Sage your Office 365 reseller?  Who had been before?  You?  Someone else?
I have still not seen it in real life which makes me leary of selling it, despite the fact I think it would be pretty cool.

This concerned me back in July, as I'd never put it past Sage to take over the license.

Well that's just it.  Part of installation is agreeing that Sage is the Microsoft Cloud Provider.  I know for the clients we set up O365 for, there is ongoing administration with that.  Adding users. Setting up retention policies.  Setting up email filtering. Changing access levels.  Configuring One Drive and Skype.  I mean, I don't see how they can deliver what the check box entails.  Or maybe they don't and I'm reading too much into the checkbox.
My CAM is heavy pushing the integration - here's how to tell people about it, etc. and I'm still too nervous.

Sage was made an additional administrator of the account (may not be precise term).  They do not take over being the MSP unless warranted.  Our company is an MSP and sells O365.  Losing control of the customer licensing would have been a non-starter for us.
