Have you had any clients use Sage AR Automation for SAGE 100?

Have you had any clients use Sage AR Automation for Sage 100?

I have a client who just asked and I don't have much updated information about the capabilities for Sage 100 integrations.

I know when it initially launched as an acquisition from Lockstep there was either no credit card integration or it was very limited. And that's the last that I really have heard much about AR Automation as it pertains to Sage 100. It didn't seem to have much of a spotlight at MOTM and I believe Sage AR Automation is supported across different Sage products and could have different capabilities based on the product integration.

This particular client is using eBizCharge who so far as I understand is not an official Sage ISV so I'm unsure even if credit card payments were now accepted whether eBizCharge could be used as an option.

I'm interested in any real world experience you've had with Sage AR Automation for Sage 100.

Also, as an aside, one of the reasons that this particular client is asking is they do want their customer to be able to download only (no payment) some of the invoices. I had thought that most of the portals that the payment companies create for what used to be branded click-to-pay could do this ( maybe just shut off ability to pay by credit card) however it sounds like the eBizCharge portal (which they have) only provides summarized invoice information and this client sells electronics with serial numbers and they need their larger customers to be able to self-service to only get a copy of the invoice.

Candidly, I'm afraid that what could happen here is that I have a payment portal from the merchant, an AR Automation portal and then as needs grow I have to add something like CIMcloud. Not that it's a bad thing but it adds cost and upgrade complexity.

I have a customer seriously considering the Nuvei Paya portal.  At 3:36 of the link the portal information starts.

We've had a demo, but no one has signed up yet.  The quote was pretty darned expensive, IMHO. Here's the sample dashboard - one nice thing is it can combine companies (and sounds like you could bring in companies on other software). It will send out dunning notices (even as printed documents if you have customers not using email), flag bounced emails, forecast cash based on prior customer activity (sort of like the Estimated Cash Flow Analysis in BR). And they do offer Click to Pay with a customer portal.

@Beth Bowers in looking at the public website the price range that Sage displays is $10,000 to $25,000 for the typical installation. (source) I still think that typical clients can likely get by using one of the payment portals that typically come along with their credit card processing. To date I think most have been free though maybe some have started to charge?

I do have one customer on Nuvei Paya and from what I can tell it works well so long as they "stay within the lines" of what it's designed to do.

Anything approaching the cost a of a part time AR Clerk just seems... not rewarding enough to me, unless the AR volume is very high.

    Thanks,

Over twice that amount... 55K annually plus 10K setup. I'm sure the 55K depends on volume, but still...

At 55K doesn't that get into CIMcloud territory?

CIMCloud I think starts around 24K/yr last time I checked.

This question came up internally, and I thought I should write something down so I don't forget:

    https://help-sage100.na.sage.com/2025/index.htm#Subsystems/LM/LMSNetworkProced/Set_Up_Sage_Connect_Integration.htm

    https://us-kb.sage.com/portal/app/portlets/results/viewsolution.jsp?solutionid=231213210009660

I seem to remember trying this out when it first was released and to say I was unimpressed is an understatement.  My memory is a bit fuzzy, but this is what I remember thinking at the time:

The site is tied to a SageID login.  Not an account, a SageID, so only one person can work with the settings / site (...remember SageID is protected by 2FA, so no shared logins).  We cannot connect to a client's site to help... we cannot set up a site for a client, without it being unavailable to them for use.  If the person owning the SageID leaves the job / company, the site becomes orphaned... unless the login is taken over.  At a fundamental architecture level, this one detail is almost a complete deal breaker.

Then it comes to how the client's customers access a site: the "magic link".  We are more frequently being asked about security and adding 2FA protection, and these links don't even need a password!?!  If someone intercepts an email, or an absent minded email forward happens, and POOF: your private AR data is revealed to someone other than the intended recipient.  Really???  Am I missing something here?  Expiring links and being able to deactivate a magic link doesn't make it more secure... just that there is a way to stop the bleeding (which may go undetected?).

Next to these problems, not being able to use your own CC provider (not even Paya / Nuvei) seems almost irrelevant.  I cannot imagine anyone recommending this feature to a client (they don't hate).  A pretty presentation / interface does not equal a quality solution.

Has anyone else taken a close look at AR Automation (FKA Sage Connect)?

Am I way off base in my concerns (listed above)?

My impression is that not much has changed. Sage did not highlight AR Automation during MOTM 2026. From memory I think Sage initially portrayed AR Automation as something of a work in process where they were still considering merchant options that might someday be added. Sage was also positioning this as "free" to Sage 100 users however they seem to have added additional tiers.  I'm much more skeptical about introducing free features to a client without having some feedback from actual users/consultants in the field.

I'm concerned that clients get these mailings from Sage that describe functionality that may have significant gaps.
