Have you ever used Sage Knowledge Sync to email a monthly salesperson report? The customer would like to send a report on the first of the month that shows each salesperson their customers and what they purchased last month as well as for the prior several years (same month). I have the report which was not too bad to create. Now what I'm wondering is if there's a shortcut to get KS to email each salesperson a copy of their own report and have the report parameter be for the current month? User owns KS so I'm looking to limit the tool used to send to that program ATM

Do they have the Reports module for KS? If so, you can enter a parameter to use LastFullMonth (or something close).

They have KS - not sure on exactly what they own. This is an orphan who has used several Sage partners in the past (and I probably won't be the last).

Reports module VERY helpful (would say critical). You can use your Crystal report and attach as a PDF.

Ideally I'd like to feed a list of salespeople, their email and then send each a report of their customers showing what they bought last month compared to last year so the salesman can spot any issues where a customer stopped buying.

Can do that as well. I would probably use Access PTQ's along with a Select Query but I am sure the Crystal Guru's have a way as well.

For KS, I think you'd need to schedule the report separately for each salesperson using a parameter like @ThereseLogeais said. Visual Cut (http://www.milletsoftware.com/visualcutBenefit.htm) is $300 and would automatically 'burst' the single report and send their relevant snippet to each Salesperson. You also get more parameter flexibility.

Thanks. I have Visual Cut in at one customer and it works well and I've had good results dealing with the developer.

I find Visual Cut more reliable and easier to use than KS. Initial cost and annual maintenance very reasonable.

I find it interesting that several are recommending Visual Cut over KS. I inherited a client using Visual Cut and we have nothing but problems with scheduled reports not running. In fact just recently we changed the email distribution list (defined in Visual Cut) and can't get the reports to run as scheduled. I'm wondering if any of you have run into that.

VC's been rock-solid for us. We run into issues whenever the source data schema changes, but it emails a nice warning log of the errors so we know when and why it failed.

@SteveIwanowski - RE separate reports -Not sure if that is true regarding the need for separate reports. But then again, maybe that is because we use Access behind the scenes to do all the heavy lifting.

@MaryJoKrueger - email ido@milletsoftware.com - he is the developer and has been helpful. I think his main job is a college technology professor so sometimes if it's during daytime hours he may need to get back in touch. He was very helpful initially. I think the pricing on VC is very fair.

Have you looked at the event pack ""Sage 100 - Trend Analysis - Current month sales compared to last month"" in KS. There is a sample they provide where it looks for a declining trend to alert when a customer is not ordering as much from month to month. I thought it was a really neat event. I could see more users using it.
