  • 1.  Have you converted any customers to Starship Cloud?

I have a number of customers who use Starship. As part of an upgrade or server move I usually advise that they contact V-Technologies to handle the upgrade or reinstallation.

I notice that V-Technologies has Starship Cloud available and I'm wondering if it makes sense to migrate uses from the on-premises Starship to Starship Cloud and avoid having to continue to move and reinstall Starship as upgrades and server changes occur?

Have you migrated anyone to Starship Cloud and if so how has it gone?
Is the feature set comparable to what the customer gets with Starship on premises?

My experience with Starship Cloud has been mostly positive. That being said, the solution is more sensitive to Internet reliability and security that the on- premise version. There is also a bit of a learning curve (for everybody) in going this direction. Once up and running, I do believe that the user experience is much better and that searching and navigating is much faster. The "Starship Connector" set up and the printer and printing profile set ups are worth studying in advance, and definitely use your test environment to play with these settings first. I had some unexpected results at first because I didn't fully understand how these three components were interwoven. The solution is "user profile dependent" though and does make transitioning workstations and servers much less of a factor in daily operations.
