Have we approached any of the OASIS people about becoming 90 Minds (full)?

From the prior post, these were the nominees. I briefly discussed the possibility with Therese, but with no one else. Moira Goggin Therese Logeais Brian Buck Jerry Norman Diane Ruth comes to mind also

Are we inviting any of the 90Minds full to join OASIS?

If they don't pay the lower membership fee of 90Minds, then I doubt they will pay the higher fee. We'll just have you transfer their membership status to ""archive"" status.

Did anyone meet any worthy OASIS candidates this week that we can target?

I say yes on the list from Jeff plus maybe Phil McIntosh. I primarily want to see ACTIVE members so their level of constant contribution is my key judge.

I am on agreement on the Jeff's list too. Phil Mcintosh included

News regarding Brian Buck. As some of you saw, he was doing a weekend install when he reached out for a solution. We exchanged some e-mails and I asked why he wasn't able to make it to Nashville. Below is the response that he said I could share with the Admin/Leadership Council. Another one bites the dust!!! In a subsequent e-mail, he indicated that he would like to stay connected with the group if at all possible. I don't see any reason why we don't proceed with extending a 90Minds invite to him. From Brian, Well, a couple reasons I was a no show...I did have a booked client schedule this summer and the other reason is that I am transitioning into the 'private sector' and putting away my consulting hat for now. A very good client of mine made me an offer I couldn't refuse (another movie reference) so I am selling my portion of my partnership off to my partners and going to work for this client. It is a bittersweet departure because I am going to miss my clients and miss my 90Minds peeps. But I do plan on staying in touch on LinkedIn and such. The other reason that made this decision easier is that I have been so exhausted in dealing with Sage and their madness that I won't miss that part of the consulting. It has been a rough 6 months of dealing with Sage on deals, tech support, and our tier levels. Plus I had been sick of never having a steady Sage rep to talk to or have a business relationship with. We have gone through 6 reps in 2 years, longest term for one has been probably 9 months. They have made it tough on small shops like us. If I come to DC next year, I may be coming in as a customer...So that would be cool if I can make it happen.

Jeff's list is good. Phil McIntosh is good. Phil is a great guy. I had several good conversations with him. He told me the only reason he was at Summit was to meet his fellow 90Minders. This was only his second Sage conference. I'm good with Brian Buck staying in 90 Minds even if he's working for a customer. I'd throw John Hoyt into the nomination as well.

  • 13.  RE: Have we approached any of the OASIS people about b

    Posted 08-20-2012 08:01
The issue I have with John Hoyt is that he doesn't seem to be at the super active poster level that I think full membership warrants. What do others think?

  • 14.  RE: Have we approached any of the OASIS people about b

    Posted 08-20-2012 08:33
I wood recommend we veer away from offering any more pure customer memberships. At some point offering memberships to customers is going to conflict with Sage and/or another partner. I think we partly discussed/agrees on this earlier. And I am of the same thought that we need to seek out active 90 Minds participants not just people that ate hyper for a month and disappear. We almost have to discount their first month activity because everyone tends to participate for that first 30 days. Just remember it's a pain in the ass getting people out and do we really want to add to linkers whose be privy to internal member chit chat? I have no problem admitting consistently active people. I do feel we should veer from offering membership to non-authorized people (customers, IT, etc) except in the case of retirement.

Does anyone have thoughts on a nomination/invitation letter to join? I can whip one up otherwise.

The final list???? Moira Goggin Therese Logeais Jerry Norman Diane Ruth Phil McIntosh Brian Buck ?? Brian is leaving at the end of the week for a client. Council seems split on him? Robert also suggested John Hoyt. I don't think he is active enough. Thoughts from the others?

  • 20.  RE: Have we approached any of the OASIS people about b

    Posted 08-27-2012 18:41
I think the people going to clients should not be in the group. Just my 2 cents and I will bow to the majority. It seems counter-intuitive to do otherwise. If someone ""crosses the line"" to join the other side of the equation, I don't think they are remaining part of the tribe. What if they went to Sage? I doubt anyone would want them around in that case. Again ... my 2 cents only.

Let's stick with active participants (several times a week) who are partners in good standing with Sage.

I don't know what to say and I'm usually not rendered speechless thank you again for your kind words. I'm more than flattered. I tested the link, perhaps I should test it tomorrow, since my usually SC login didn't work, it still works for the regular SC. For the invoice, I'm assuming company check is acceptable for payment. Thanks Jeff and the rest of the committee I'm looking forward to being a full member for many years to come. Best regards, Moira Goggin President/CEO Chismet Consulting Corp. Robert (or anyone else), once the private groups are opened to the new members, will the prior posts be available for their review?

Thanks, Let me know when they can test. I've given everyone a thread from 2010 to test their access.

They should be able to access the different groups now.

They should have invitations to all of the groups in their email. I believe it's 14 groups. Sheesh!

Robert, wouldn't you know the one thread I sent for them to check out is under the Social Cast Chatter group and Therese reports this group is not available to her. Can you check into this?

Also, Moira doesn't appear to be in the 90(p) Members Only group. She can't even see her own welcome notes.
