Have Sage given up on competency exams in favor of just charging a fee? http://cdn.na.sage.com/sagemail/SageMail/CC_2014_Renewal_Program_1013.html

Well the products haven't changed and since the exams aren't billed separately they are now entirely a cost, and costs have to be cut if you're going to stay competitive without improving your products, so what else would a holding company do?

Where did you find this Wayne? I've not received any such information.

@DebThomas It was an email sent from Sage. I'm not sure why you aren't on their list. I try to post them all here. If you have an Evernote account I can share with you my Evernote Notebook where all of these emails are automatically cataloged.

I did not receive this either.

This particular link was buried inside the main Sage broadcast email -- it was not a standalone email.

Did you already take and pass those? If so I wonder if they are just saying you have to pay the $$ to renew?

Yes i have passed all those in the past. I would hopefully like to think they just want the money. I already feel like a profit center rather than a partner.

I seen the same thing Harold and was wondering about this. I'm sure they will have us take exams again as they can get more money that way. Wayne, I didn't receive that email either. I have called twice and asked about the certification requirements and was told that they would have my manager get with me. Hasn't happened yet and it's been two weeks...

@HaroldWestover - my take is that 12/31/13 is the expiration of the fees for 2013 certs and if you don't pay it by 1/31/2014 your certs expire 2/1/2014.
