Have an old client going through some hard times.

Have an old client going through some hard times. Their factory floor got wiped out during Sandy. They want to upgrade their hardware but they dropped maintenance to save cash. They are on MAS200 4.3. Anybody have the 4.3 addition of the compatibility matrix? I'm hoping they can run windows Server 2008 and Windows 7 workstations. If its not blessed, is it only paperless office that's the problem?

Thanks. So it says its compatible with Vista but not blessed for Windows 7. I wonder if that's just because Windows 7 was brand new at the time. Does anybody have clients on 4.3 using Windows 7 without issues?

In my view there's nothing you can tell the customer other than it's not on the supported list and they can give it a shot and there IS a fee whether it works or not (this is an important part).

Remember that Sage was always a bit slow in updating their SPMs to keep up with new technology. Product Update 18 came out at the end of March in 2010 and that was the patch that was supposed to make 4.30 compatible with Windows 7. Most of the issues that it fixed were related to printing and Paperless Office, I seem to recall (there was also a patch, LM-4046, which was required). Here is an SPM dated June 3, 2010 which mentions Windows 7. The funny thing is that this revision date is not accurate as this must have been modified after Windows XP support was retired since Sage removed any reference to XP from the document.

I'd say 4.3 was the last version where people felt like they got real value for maintenance

v4.4 was the last major module update...... PO, IM and BOM. Though it was mainly just making it BF worthy. Not a lot of new features.....
