Have a customer using Business Alerts 4.4 with MAS 4.4 -- they want to move BA to a new server that is running MAS. Any issues with version 5.1 of BA? I'm assuming that it's a straightforward setup of BA 5.1 then export/import the alerts. Just thought I'd check in case someone had run into a minefield or run into other issues.

We don't work much with BA anymore other than supporting existing customers. New installs have been KnowledgeSync. I'm not aware of any issues with 5.1 though.

We're in the same boat as Dawn.. Haven't done much with BA lately.

My instinct is to replace with KS but since this customer just wants a server move and no added alerts to be created I'm going to just migrate for now. If they come back wanting more alerts I'm planning to recommend a move of BA.

I don't use the KS to access the MAS database directly. Rather I buy the KS Access license to get at MAS via pass/select through queries (which is basicly what KS does with their (KLA?) linking functions. By using Access, it is just one less database to have to deal with, we can write queries in Access to do the heavy lifting plus if you ever want to use a second database, you don't have to buy another license. BA was such a PITA to deal with, I cut deals with my BA users to move them to KS.
