Have a client who went to PCCharge to change the Manager Password (do it every 90 days). It changed fine and allowed her to use it. Next day, neither the new password or the old one would work. She changed it again through the System account but it still doesn't work. The System account access is fine. No restore had been done. With no Manager access, they can't do an End of Day. Anyone had this happen before? Thanks

Here's how I did it previously - there may be other ways - http://www.s-consult.com/2010/10/27/how-to-recover-a-lost-mas90-pc-charge-password/

Thank you. I have been that route before when both passwords went out the door with an employee. That is probably the route they will go. It is interesting that the SYSTEM account works fine and its password was changed at the same time. I don't remember if you can create another account and give it Manager rights but i suggested they check.

FWIW, the IT guy, restarted the server and made some adjustment to PCCharge (Didn't share with me but I will find out). Now the Manager account works.

I think you can work around this if you have copies of the files holding the passwords. He probably restored them. In the case where my customer called PC Charge they did not have any backups.

From the IT person: We used system to make a new account and that new account worked. So we went in as system again and reset the manager password (select the account and press enter, talk about hidden features) and tested and that worked. Manager had a password different from what was expected I suspect, but matches now.
