Have a client who wants to be able to enter negative numbers into Quantity Counted in physical inventory. This was allowed prior to version 4.40, but since, any negative entry converts to zero. Does anyone have a solution for them?

How can you count a negative quantity???? Perhaps you should assist them with taking a real physical inventory. You could probably make a ton more money showing them processes that really worked.

@Jeff - I know it is strange, but they have a process that includes allowing negative quantities in a warehouse with offsetting positive quantity in another. They cannot use physical count because of this issue.

Weirder than strange. Are they using a Sage manufacturing product or a third party. Perhaps @AlnoorCassim can suggest a data dictionary tweak?? Another possibility would be inventory transaction adjustments.

I'd be afraid of just a data dictionary tweak - I'm betting there are places in calculations where they ASSUME the qty counted is always greater than or equal to 0 and some bad thing would happen (no doubt having to do with Average cost).

Do they use VI? They could set the physical count to zero and then import the negatives as adjustments after updating the physical.
