Have a client that upgraded from 4.05 MAS200 to 4.

Have a client that upgraded from 4.05 MAS200 to 4.4 SU2 (so far) with JO installed. Problem is that since the upgrade, tasks that took five minutes or less to run are taking now hours. Any ideas?

Have you rebuilt the files? Maybe something happened during the migration that hosed the tables.

anti-virus/network issues? Might want to have IT to take a look.

I agree with Eric, check AV. What tasks are taking longer? Is the server underpowered? Disk I/O issues?

I have rebuilt files @JeffSchwenk, but only in IM, SO, PO...not the other modules. I'll check on the Antivirus issue. Not supposed to AV MAS as I recall. @JimWoodhead printing a WT can take an hour...sometimes longer. Looking up a part is an exercise in patience. Wasn't around when they converted, new client to me, but definitely think their IT situation needs review. Really think the server is underpowered, tried to explain that MAS kinda likes it's own playground. Thanks for the input, will pass it along.

Did you upgrade forms? Try using standard forms to see if there is a difference. Can you tell is it is in the create of the work-file or the crystal printing?

Have you tried running this in non-MAS200 mode just to rule out 200 related issues. Are they accessing this the same way ? They aren't trying to run a workstation over a T1 which might be expected to have slow Crystal issued?

There were also some issues noted in the IM conversion that IM transaction records were created to fill in the gaps in dates. Say there was a bad date record of 1/1/20. Records were created to fill in the gap through (say) 1999. In other words, you now have a boat load of records that Crystal has to sort through.

Deb we have seen quite a few times that 4.4 is more resource intensive than 4.05. That said anti-virus exclusions (I can give you the list if you need it), more ram on workstations and we have also found bad swithches.

Thanks everyone, I knew you'd all have suggestions about this. @RonPeterson I would appreciate the list if you don't mind. @WayneSchulz no not tried will have them take a look at that. @JeffSchwenk ah yes, that would slow the wheels down greatly, but I also don't know how well forms were converted...checking that out per Wayne's comment. @JimWoodhead , thanks for all the notes, am passing them onto the IT folks to check while I'm gone. Will post findings as I know more. Thanks everyone for the help. I am leaving for Provence in a couple of hours, so have a great couple of weeks...will check in as I can. Bye...

Deb, what I have been doing is from the server make sure the MAS90 folder is totally excluded. At each workstation make sure that the AV does not scan network drives, then in your exclusion list ( suffix: soa;pvx;lib;rpt;m4t;m4l;m4p;m4d;dd;dde;ddf;xeq .. then exclude the file pvxwin32.exe, just learned this a few months back.

Deb - Regarding printing I have run into a similar issue with a Sage Extended Solutions in 4.30. Before installing the enhancement, printing was normal. After, it would take 3-5 minutes to print a single SO invoice. If I rebuilt all the files it would run ok on one workstation, until I printed from any other workstation and then ALL workstations ran slow. (I spent many hours figuring this out.) Eventually I got a replacement prorgram file from Sage that fixed it 100%. Unfortunately, I don't have the file name for you. But if this sounds like your problem, there is a fix.

Deb - I found the file. In my case it was IM_1220_001.PVC in the MAS90\IM directory that needed to be swapped out. Of course, it would be something else for you, but I hope this is helpful.

I seem to remember having a problem after a JobOps 4.3 upgrade where it was solved by deleting a legacy file that was no longer used but confused a program if it was there. Possibly jt0xxx.soa??

FYI - Job OPS posted an interin fixes for after 4.4 SU 6 - my job ops client has tons of errors every day and Pam hopes this will help. JobOPS said there were too many holes with the current version that they could not wait until SU7 came out the end of the month. So it should be on the web now.
