Have a client that removed the extended solution for 35 option categories (BM-1042) in Bill of Materials (because they didn't want to buy it again, something about that.......) when they upgraded from 4.3 to 4.4. This left records in the Bill Header and Bill Detail files with alpha charachters in the Option Category field and is causing errors in sales order entry. Tried exporting and re-importing but had issues with VI not liking the option bills. Is it possible to create a script that would cruise through the files and simply delete any records that had an A-Z in that field?

Did you try rebuilding the files? Doesn't always work but worth a shot.

Yeah, we did (good idea though!) and the rebuild doesn't seem to care if there are alpha charachters there. Not sure why the program does either, the alpha categories just don't exist any more so the can't be selected by the user.

I've done imports with options but not at 4.4 - are you saying it's not easier??

Just an FYI, The title is available in the DSD extended solution catalog. I think the cost of it was just the annual maintenance. Just wanted to let you know.
