Have a client that just went live on 2013 (PU2). Processing thier first payroll (after completing YTD entries) and one employee out of 85 shows a negative FICA amount on the audit report. All other employees are positive amount. Tried re-running tax calculation and deleting and re-entering the employee payroll data and it still comes back negative. Has anyone experienced this before?

Check the deduction codes on the bad employee calculations. I'm not sure if this is the cause but I know it has been the issue whenever I've had some type of working about negative earnings.

The only lines are Regular earnings, a fringe benefit (E&D codes), and a deduction the company contribution to health insurance. Not sure what I would be looking for there, but they all seem normal?

I would look at the taxes for the deduction code(s). Is FICA being reduced?

And were the YTD amounts correct? Perhaps Sage does a calculation on a YTD basis, though this is a low probability. Has employee maxed out for the year?

I think you are correct @JeffSchwenk . Payroll will ""refund"" the over withheld amount.
