Have a client that has POs dating from 2007, they need to clear them out. The only thing holding them from completing are the Misc Chgs that seem to be on each PO that won't clear. Suggestions? All of the POs are in backorder status.

You could purge obsolete PO's through a certain date. What version?

As I recall, Misc Charges are cleared during Receipt of Invoice. I assume Misc. Charges do not affect Purchases Clearing Accounts. Another option would be to use VI to change teh Back Order Status to Complete, then Purge Completed Purchase Orders.

Yes, that was my thought too - VI to change status to complete and then use the Purge process. However, I am curious if the Purge Obsolete might work. Will test that before asking someone for a VI job.

I don't think you can access the status flags in in the new frame work. Obsolete is probably your best shot......

Purging obsolete PO's through a certain date does not mean the PO date - it is the date of the last transaction, e.g. rec. of gds or rec. of invoice, etc. People always get confused when there are PO's prior to the through date still there after the purge.

purging obsolete PO's is the Best way in V4.4 and beyond

Just make sure you don't have any valid PO's within the date range you set. Purging obsolete doesn't care about the PO Status. It removes it all. And with all utilities - make sure you have a valid and recent backup of the company data.
