Have a client running SI with 2 different reports using Report Designer. One report runs fine. The other report says ""The Report Designer Component is required by this report and is not installed on this workstation. Please install it before running this report."" As I said - the other report also uses Report Designer and works JUST FINE (and both reports work for me on the server). WTH?

You could try making a small change to the corrupt report and saving the template and see if that helps.

Does that workstation lack a designer license? Also I googled it and found my own answer to someone. ""Make sure you've launched Excel once as that user"" :-P Also make sure you're running SBI as administrator. Which might require launching Sage 100 as admin if it's a newer version, I guess.

Check the Excel COM Add in and make sure BI is checked.

In report manager, highlight report, click advanced and check if the Report Designer required option is checked on.

These are all good responses, but none are addressing the fact that the client can successfully run ONE report that is using Report Designer and not another.

Is there any path in there that is not valid from the workstation and maybe that error message is just a seismic anomoly?

I could use a seismic anomaly right about now.

Is it a 1 company Report? You could copy the Master Template to her Production Folder, run it out and copy the corrupt report production sheets to the new template and rename Report. I think your report is corrupt and you need a new template.

@NancyHanson - yep, something must have been corrupt. After copying hither and yon and making a million backups so I didn't lose anything from these multi-sheet reports, client is able to run them both now with no errors. THANKS EVERYONE!
