Have a client on v2014 that ran the Inventory Utility to remove zero quantity lots and it appeared to run successfully. However, it left behind about a hundred records in ItemCost that they insisted had to be removed. I thought no big deal, I'll export out the whole file, remove the zero quantity records, reinitialize the file and import the rest back in. Then I discovered the VI import only had 10 of the 17 fields defined. I looked at my v2015, same thing. Ideas?

I think I ran into this a while back doing a conversion in v4.5. We ended up installing v4.3 to import the cost records, then converted to v4.5. Not sure why they took away this flexibility.... But then again, maybe the missing seven are BF file assigned.

I believe these are ""read only"" fields and can only be updated by posting transactions in Sage. You can mess with the data dictionaries to change that but probably not a good idea

I've no intention of changing the data dictionary but good grief, doesn't excluding these fields in this file seem somewhat arbitrary. That's like saying certain fields should be excluded in AR_OpenInvoice. Yes, under normal circumstances, this should be written to by the system, but there are valid reasons to make these changes. Just saying.

There should be a button/checkbox in VI with its own security setting that says ""allow all fields to be written"".

There is a button on DFDM that will do this. Delete. For 100 you'll spend more time figuring out how to VI than to delete individually. I'd also keep a backup of this file though it won't be much help since it probably changes with each posting.

I did delete them manually after my first post but this just irritates me no end. Sorry for the rant.

There were probably costs in those tier still and that is why not removed
