  • 1.  Have a client on 4.4. Looking at getting new work

    Have a client on 4.4. Looking at getting new workstations with Windows 8. Obviously the 4.4 platform matrix doesn't mention windows 8 since it wasn't out at the time. Any idea if it will work ok?

    You might try a Win XP virtual machine

    should work - paperless may be a problem - i have not tested.

    We have seen printing/paperless issues with Windows 8. We've usually fixed these with either drivers or Virtual Machines.

    There are a couple tweaks that have been mentioned here regarding paperless. My first win 8 took a week to get running. The second took a day. The paperless tweak was the issue in both instances.

    I too fought with paperless on a windows 8 workstation in 4.4. Once I beat it into submission it has worked fine. I would have to dig to find the original thread. Maybe Wayne saved it in his installation notes KB.
