Sage 100

Have a client on 100 v4.40 premium and needs to go from Windows Server 2003 Datacenter to Windows Server 2008 R2 (64-bit). It is a standard practice for them to use the Datacenter edition when creating new servers. The Enterprise and Datacenter editions are essentially identical so it is very unusual to see Datacenter being listed as unsupported in the SPM matrix. The line is ""Sage MAS 200 is not designed for any version of Windows Datacenter Server and is not supported on this platform."" Has anyone installed this version on a 2008 Windows Server DataCenter? If so, are there any issues?

On Server 2012 I've done the vetting to determine Datacenter edition has only functional difference in volume licensing / how CALs are counted but otherwise identical to Enterprise edition and have deemed as okay for a couple of 2014 installations. I haven't done the research on 2008 Datacenter edition but if the difference is the same it should be safe. Also the guy in Sage QA who did the network / o/s platform testing they laid him off a few years ago so likely nobody has done any research on Datacenter since 2003. He is a real estate agent now.

Many companies use the Data Center edition for licensing purposes and use Virtual Servers on different OS's using the Data Center for the host only.
