Have a client changing from Std cost to FIFO. Ran the Valuation Change Register and noticed some items with 0 qty on hand were showing a new negative balance. Looked into the details after the update and sure enough - the valuation change created a FIFO layer with 0 qty and a negative extension. Purging zero qty cost tiers did not get rid of it. WTH?

I've had this happen also. I've never found out why. You know what to do to fix it, yes?

I suppose it's that Balance Invt Qty and Cost, right? Which is fine, but man, I'd love to know why. Client is nervous about a valuation change, anyway. UGH.

Yeah, I'd like to know why too, but can never get an answer. I don't know that the balancing utility takes care of this. The attached KBA is what I've had to do.

THANKS. Different than the 0 qty/non 0 dollars on the TB. This saves me time looking it up after the other thing didn't work. :-)

I ran into this last week. Ran the purge Zero quantity and that did not work either. Personally, they should rename it if it also looks at zero costs also. I fixed the valuations by deleting the tier via DFDM....

LOL! I've got your back. Jeff lives for reasons to fool around in DFDM.

In any event, you have to make two entries via transaction entry adjustments or do brain surgery via DFDM. Just so much easier if we could purge ZERO quantity tiers....
