Have a client asking about Crossware. I know Big Louie used to rave about it. Anybody using it now and happy? Anybody able to help a client (billable of course) set it up remotely?

You mean the UPS solftware? If so, then we've dealt with it a couple times. UPS always handled it.

Yea but don't you have to do stuff in MAS and VI or something to receive back the tracking info?

Crossware uses ODBC to pull data out of MAS. To put data into MAS, it uses a key-stroking app to mimic the keystrokes that the shipping clerk would be entering into the open MAS Shipping module. So the UPS tech (and they are Crossware specialists) doesn't really need to know anything about MAS. However, if the customer has customized MAS screens, it could be a problem.

Myron has a very nice interface for Worldship and MAS. Scan the order number into Worldship. ODBC link pulls data into UPS (3rd party shipper number, bill to receipient, shipping method (ground, red, blue). Process the shipment, click a button in MAS Shipping data entry. Done.
