Has Sage communicated the status of Sage 100 Work Order upgrade to framework standards? Is Work Order ""framework"" version going to be released any time soon? I have had a couple of recent customer inquiries.

I am 50.0000001% sure that it will be this decade. Sage engineers are currently working (very hard?) on payroll to BF .....

I don't think this is work order -- but I do think we are going to learn about MFG at the same time as a couple dozen customers sitting in the session will.

Sage has not communicated the status of Sage 100 Work Order upgrade to framework standards. As far as I know a Work Order framework version is not going to be released any time soon. See @WayneSchulz comment above on the Summit session on new manufacturing for 100c.

Also as far as I know, the current Work Order module in its current form is not going away any time soon.

The customers that are asking are both premium users, so WO isn't compatible in it's current state. JobOps is overkill in both complexity and price for both of these. Let's hope the Sage Summit brings good news (doesn't require a $20K JobOps project to implement).

The ""new manufacturing module"" in the Summit session will be compatible with Premium because it is within the 100c product, but since it is mentioned as within 100c, it will be subscription licensing only. It seems that the ""new manufacturing module"" is in the same realm as the name of the band performing at Summit.

OMG, if it's Train, I'm going to one of those famous Chicago Blues clubs that night.

Train, however, has won a Grammy, so that doesn't fit with the clues.

Now @JohnHoyt you know what buttons to push. Making the new manufacturing module subscription only and not updating the existing modules is going to upset a lot of people. Trying to pressure people to move to subscription or they can't take advantage of new products is a new low. ... particularly since the source code is the same. there is no technical reason why the new module would not work with ""classic"".

Doug, you better have a seat because with 100c Sage is going to continue encouraging people to migrate from 100 to 100c by adding goodies to 100c not available on 100. This is going to continue until the strategy works or the next regime change at Sage. Whichever comes first. My money is on regime change within 3 years.

I know it is inevitable, and complaining never helps. I dont like it because it doesnt seem fair.

@DougHiggs I don't know about how things work in your neck of the woods but down here in Oklahoma, the ""fair"" only comes once a year and that's in September.

LOL... If I treated my customers like that I would have been out of business and digging ditches many years ago. I will be amazed if this screw the end user, lets keep charging more for less strategy works.

@DougHiggs Earlier this week I was ranting and raving about the same exact things. I have a very large project that I was quoting comparing perpetual, 100c-monthly and 100c-annual and 3 phases. I scrapped all of that and only presented 100c-annual, because I knew the prospect would just get confused. Since they need the ""new manufacturing"" (in phase 2), I can't even consider perpetual with Sage 100 any more. I don't know where we'll end up with them, but at least the details are simpler.

If I walked into Volvo looking to buy a $40K car and they told me the only option was to lease, I walk out and go buy a Ford.
