Has anyone's customers who went to Summit been con

Has anyone's customers who went to Summit been contacted by other partners? I received an email this morning from a customer who attended Summit: Interestingly, I heard from a company that must be the local Sage rep in the area (Perryman & Associates) that they heard I had been to summit and may be interested in Sage 100c or X3. So Sage must have distributed us as a ""lead."" I let them know we are not interested in either at this time and we already have a fabulous partner. I'm trying to drill into the details to see exactly how this ""lead"" made it's way to another partner. It's certainly possible one of the people from my customer (5 in total went) stopped at Perryman's booth though I don't see them listed as exhibiting. I know the customer said they stopped and spoke to Sage. I'm concerned if Sage is re-distributing leads for an end user who is already aligned with a partner.

I got an email from Sage (seemingly) following up as if I was a lead. It was not a partner.

Tentatively thinking this is some type of issue with Sage and lead distribution. I would not be shocked if they have a roomful of interns ""working the leads"". https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rbSs3PB00o4

The SAGE Summit 2016 app listed Attendees who registered to use the app. You could sort the app by attendee type, Authorized BP, Accting Professional, and SAGE Customer. Maybe the other BP found and recognized your customers business name on that app. I know I reviewed the app to see if there were any company names I recognized.

Think of all the college students that were coaxed to go to Summit to hear Ashton Kutcher speak. Sage is salivating at all those LEADS to distribute internally and to the channel!!! Dear Joe College Kid, Can I interest you in Sage X3? Thank you, Sage Partner

@MichaelMcDonald In this instance, the customer told me they were guided by Sage to 100c MFG when they mentioned a minor issue with JC. And Sage also suggested X3. So the products mentioned were very specific to this customer and lead me to believe the lead was likely distributed by Sage.

@WayneSchulz then your concern is justified.

Perryman was exhibiting under LightWorks, a time tracking and HR system.

I brought my daughter to Sage Summit as a Student Attendee for the $ 99/ discount rate; specifically to see ""the Sharks"" and Ashton Kutcher. I used my cell number; not hers so I could monitor who would call her. She received one phone call while we were out of the country and they just left a VM message. I'm curious to see if they call back; and what their they will say.

We had a customer contacted by ""someone from Sage"" last week using scare tactics to try to get them to get back on plan. The person told our customer that if they didn't get on a subscription plan that their software would by read only in January 2017. Our customer is not on an active business care plan, and I doubt they would get back on plan unless they absolutely had to simply because they really are cheap. But, I wanted to share with everyone that someone with access to off plan Sage 100 customers are making phone calls. I do not know if it is Sage or someone pretending to be Sage.

I would not be surprised if Sage outsourced a bunch of telemarketing. Remember the days when they outsourced their maintenance renewals and we went through a bunch of this.
