Now that I am off the phone, longer answer -- Yes, I imported into the shipping rate header and shipping rate detail files. We used ""zones"" which were using the ""prior range of zip code"". This was years ago, but we had to download Excel files from the UPS site, then set up an Access database to link the zones list with the rates list. There were LOTS of records. But, it imported and worked quickly to calculate rates. Client eventually went away from that in favor of flat-rate shipping as it was easier for sales reps and customers to understand.

VI Import - Yes. It is a large import depending on number of zip codes, level of service and weights. A downside of using MAS for freight calulation is on backorders. The freight is recalcualted based on what is shipped rather than ordered. This can be pain on prepaid orders with prepaid shipping, where the shipping for the backorder isn't charged to the customer. Fortunately, advanced scripting can deal with these types of issues.

Thanks to both of you. We have a new possible ROR client upset with current reseller. (Whats new) The deal is that they are on V4.3 and are using Starship V9. It sounds like they have been using Starship to calcuate the rates for their own trucks based on the UPS table (not sure all the details yet) What they have said is that that the new Starship is taking away the custom rate table in V11+. So now they are thinking about importing the tables into MAS and using the MAS freight system. Also I just found out they want to use the scale too. ""Ah oh"" Not sure how that will work. I am going to have a conference to fi\gure out exactly what they need. Obviously I need more info.

Did this once. The result was 1.25 million records in the ship rate table.
