Has anyone worked with a customer using ConnectWis

Has anyone worked with a customer using ConnectWise to integrate it with Sage 100/Sage 300? Have a prospect who insists on using ConnectWise as it integrates with one of their suppliers and would make invoicing their customers much easier. (They are invoiced by their supplier then turn around and invoice their customers for the services rendered.) TIA. @Sage300Technical

We had a local networking firm that used Sage 100 and Connectwise. VI job if I remember correctly for the integration.

Thanks @ScottHickman - no problems that you recall? Was this a VI job that you set up or that ConnectWise already had in place for integration? We had another 3rd party that told one of our customers that yes, indeed, they integrate with Sage 100 then came to find out they had never done one before. Told this prospect I would not promise anything without verifying it has in fact been done before.

In the past we ran both ConnectWise and Sage 100. There's no true integration, so at the time, we used to have CW generate journal entries that dumped to a text file that we'd import into Sage 100 via V/I. We never did anything with integrating AR/AP invoices, although since CW is SQL-based, it's doable.

This company is CA called Equation Technologies has an integration for ConnectWise and Sage 300. I've been told by other Sage 300 BP that it works well. (http://sageintegrations.com/contact/)

So you invoiced everything through CW @SteveIwanowski ? Does it have a fair AR system? Thanks @LloydSmith - he said he is open to either 100 or 300.

Correct, we basically used CW as our CRM and AR, and MAS for AP/GL. CW as a ticket system is wonderful and it integrates nicely with most MSP tools, however, the billing is straight from Dante's circles of hell, especially the Agreements...

We use CW and Sage 100. We invoice out of CW, and then we import the invoices into Sage 100 using a VI job. Since CW uses SQL, we created a SQL view to capture all of the invoicing data we wanted to import. VI reads the database directly using our view and imports the invoices into AR Inv Data Entry. We update the invoices in Sage 100, and then use Sage 100 for AR Aging and collections. We email the invoices from CW because we do not import all of the line detail into Sage 100 anymore because it can be a LOT of data. However, we used to import all of the detail and send the invoices from Sage 100 via paperless office. The only area we have not messed with because it really isn't painful enough for us to solve is marking the invoices in CW as paid. CW has some really nice utilities for mass updates to documents, so we simply mark invoices as paid in bulk once a month. The only reason this really matters is if you are allowing customers access to the customer portal in CW and they can see their invoices. They seem to get upset if their invoices are showing as unpaid, so we had to make them happy. Go figure, right? Customers are so picky.

According to the Connectwise market place, Blythco has an integration to pull data from ConnectWise into Sage 100. No details or recommendations and I have no insight into when the component was published on the market place site. https://marketplace.connectwise.com/p/170/sage-100-erp-formerly-sage-mas-90200-integration

@BrianKelly, that sounds more like what we did for our networking client that Scott mentioned. CW actually had (at the time) their own VI job, which brought in AR invoices (summary-style, if I recall).

I had a customer using CW, and ended up creating a new VI job that imported into SO module, not AR. No major issues. Never had to import back into CW though.

We run ConnectWise internally. Long ago we ran MAS90 & Timekeeper. Then we moved to Dynamics NAV and alot of homebrew customizations. Then we got tired of that and invested in ConnectWise and actually moved to Quickbooks Pro. This is because the ConnectWise integration is already there and solid, and for anything a VAR firm needs from a GL, AR, AP standpoint, Quickbooks does as well or better than Sage 100. Yes, agreements are complex, but we now have a master in house and have everything running very smoothly. We use QuoteWerks for all our quoting and its awesome due to its flexibility and digital signatures. We are adding electronic payments so customers can pay invoices and pay deposits on quotes via credit card or ACH. Stuff that would all cost a fortune in a Sage world and be clunky, that just works in QB & Connectwise

Thanks all! I did as @WayneSchulz suggested and sent the prospect an overview of some of the comments posted here (no names, etc.). I had told him about 90 Minds in our initial phone call yesterday and his response to my email today with the overview: ""Thanks for the feedback. This is encouraging."" https://90minds-com.socialcast.com/messages/30632819?ref=stream
