Has anyone worked with a customer upgrading from earlier than 4.4 where they were using the Extended Solution that added UDF files for Lot/Serial?
It seems that during our early testing most things worked well (we had to map the UDF to carry the data from data entry but that was not a biggie).
The issue we are dealing with is that in the prior Extended Solution when the customer went to Inventory Maintenance - Cost Detail - they were able to add the line UDF for editing.
This customer manages granite and the UDF fields hold dimensions (width, height). These frequently are entered wrong -- or a slab of stone breaks and the dimensions change.
The issue that I've seen now with 4.5.3 is the UDF can no longer be added to the panel.
Has anyone wrestled with this? I seem to remember someone posted maybe 6 to 9 months ago having a customer with UDF on the Lot/Serial and how Sage's implementation of rolling that functionality in was not exactly a mirror image of the old Extended Solution.
I'm also curious whether this might be overcome somehow with scripting (add perhaps a button that clicks to another screen to change the UDF? )
