Has anyone used Basecamp (new version) to setup templates for upgrades? While the various steps of each upgrade are often highly tailored - there are some very repetitive areas like a pre-upgrade documentation checklist (what modules are used , etc). I think this is a huge area for Basecamp and the new template feature to help us enormously as we go through our next round of upgrades. I'd been keeping this information in a hybrid of Google Docs and Basecamp but I'd like to move more of the checklist type work to Basecamp so I only have to key it in once.

Here's what the template screen in Basecamp looks like. What I want to do is get the template beefed up enough so when a customer calls for an upgrade I just open the project and tell Basecamp to pull in the template then I know to start filling in the details. This is ESPECIALLY helpful with those start/stop projects where the customer is red hot to begin today then everything is delayed for 8 months and nobody remembers what happened back at the start...

I'm very interested in this. We licensed ConnectWise a few months ago, and the network engineers use this for their projects, but we have done nothing with it so far, probably because it seems like too much. Products such as Basecamp appear to be much more accessible for this type of requirement.

I would like to have a few of these templates to demonstrate to the group. I think they can save us a lot of time when we can start the upgrade process -- from quote to go live -- by pushing one button and having 75% of our procedure all laid out in front of us.
