Sage 100

Has anyone taken or been advised of a separate Sage 100 PAYROLL certification for 2018? I recalll taking technical certification in January 2018 which was virtually all payroll related. I can't remember seeing notifications related to a payroll certification.

Did you get an email on it? I remember doing a cert due mid-Jan 2018 which was virtually all PR. I can't remember seeing any other announcement. I also searched MySageSell for ""payroll certification"" and couldn't find anything. I distinctly remember watching a ton of small videos because Sage did away with their PDF guides.

This was part of the regular Sage 100 renewal (required in Jan 2018). It's not listed as a renewal certificate (see screenshot), yet neither are the ""Sage 100 Certified Implementation Consultant,"" ""Sage 100 Certified Technical Consultant,"" nor ""Sage 100 Certified Applications Consultant - Financials/Distribution

I don't think the payroll portion was out at January 2018. I haven't seen anything that says a payroll certification is required to call support at Sage for Payroll ... yet a cert now in Sage U seem to imply that.

I missed this post completely! I also NEVER received any notification from Sage in regard to having to take a test! I received an email yesterday saying that I'm nearing the deadline of Jan 4 to take the cert and pay! Yesterday after receiving the email that made me have to install a new battery in my pacemaker, I wrote back and asked to please have someone call me. I did receive a call yesterday afternoon and was told that this cert came out in September and is now due Jan 4th? I said that I would have gladly taken it in the fall as that is so much easier than trying to study and cram this in during the busiest time of the year with W-2's and payroll taxes but I NEVER received any notice! I am signed up on SageSell as well. I told her that I also haven't been receiving notices about the Partner Calls either. I was told that she would check into giving me an extension. It's amazing to me that they can find a way to communicate with me at the witching hour but why wasn't I contacted in October or November? They normally send those emails with the pressure of ""you still need to take and pass your certification"" but nothing, only the email yesterday with the threat of de-certification and the deadline. So very frustrating!

@KathyPurkiss - I emailed last week or the week before to see if there was a deadline for the PR certs and they have never replied to me. Are they referring to the PR cert and saying it's due by the 4th?

Yes according to the email I received.

I didn't receive ANY notification from Sage, and this was not on my radar until yesterday. I managed to slam in the videos (ok, my eyes popped open at 3AM today) and passed the assessment.

I just signed up for the certification. Totally missed that one.

I still have not seen anything in writing on this but I am sure I will pretty quickly after 1/4

their own staff doesn't have to do these and they should be.... just sayin

@WayneSchulz , thank you! That's odd to me because Sage told me yesterday that I was ""opted out"" for whatever reason for notifications and she changed it so I was ""opted in"". When I went through the link you provided, I still had nothing selected. I know I'm not the only one who is experiencing this so I'm wondering if they have a separate server that is managing the emails notifications that is not getting updated. I'll have to spend more time on 90Minds to see what else I continue to miss. I appreciate your help, thank you!

I talked with Celina Oliver at Sage today to get more info on this. It was a new certification that was released last year after the 2018 payroll release. Every reseller needs at least 1 Payroll consultant now. (Sage's PSR team will start reaching out to those who don't have it yet) Supposedly the cost is $500, however one of our current Sage 100 consultants took the certification last week and did not have to pay.

I had to pay the $500.00 or it would not put the videos and exam in my Sage U.
