Sage 100

Has anyone started compiling an FAQ on ACA? I am starting to get orphan requests -- ""does Sage 100 support ACA and how much does it cost?"" I can only see this level of inquiry growing. I have always steered a 100 mile path around anything that could carry IRS penalties as I've had these types of customers in the past who don't want to pay their CPA and think their Sage consultant should advise them financially. Naturally the customer either fails to give details or doesn't follow up and when the penalty rolls in suddenly there is an implication that we should help with that too... I could see a group effort to develop a branded FAQ - perhaps even something that links to a document we could keep updated.

By FAQ I only mean Sage 100 capabilities. Would not even attempt to interpret the law. I think Sage has an FAQ and maybe that's what I will send. I'm dreading the avalanche of ""we forgot to turn on perpetual history"".

We are working on preparing a presentation in a few weeks on Sage 100 version 2015 and 15 minutes of it is focused on ACA. I would really appreciate any information folks have that we should be incorporating into our presentation. I would be happy to share our final product back for others to tailor for your own use.

@WayneSchulz I have impressed on my staff the need to reach out to everyone of our customers and confirm they have perpetual history enacted because I share your fear.

Here is Sage's feedback on how to deal with the situation where perpetual history was not enabled from 1/1/15. Sage also has a few links to ACA related information (gov't sites) on the KB articles I do NOT plan to cover any ACA related issues beyond basic setup under support.

We have a team dedicated to dealing with the ACA process and plan on offering the service to prepare the 1094C and 1095C forms for clients. We'll be using a different program for non-Sage users and obviously will be generating through Sage for any Sage users. I've installed the necessary patches/upgrades for about 5 clients so far who have wanted to get started with data entry. So far it has been my experience that they want a lot more hand holding and advice than simply how Sage works. In each case they have wanted advice on which codes they're supposed to use in different scenarios. I've been taking a lot of notes and putting together a FAQ list is on my TO DO list. However, it doesn't look like I'm going to be able to get to that for at least a couple of weeks.
